It seems that even more is known about space than about the mysterious depths of the ocean. They keep many secrets that people have yet to reveal. But the aquatic world still showed some of the most beautiful sea mollusks.
Angel
This creature is actually called a sea angel. Only the character of the predatory inhabitant of the deep sea is devilish. And the owner of a completely transparent oblong body, reminiscent of a flower, hunts, paradoxically, his own brothers in the shop - mollusks called monkfish (limacina).
Armadillo
And in the case of this creature, the name is also not a play on words. The species of armadillo was discovered relatively recently. Snails are distinguished by a very strong shell and are so far the only known living organisms whose skeleton contains iron sulfates.
Shining
The bioluminescent octopus uses the glow to attract curious prey and during mating to attract the most worthy mate.
A vampire
A deep-sea dweller, the hellish vampire lives in layers of the ocean with minimal oxygen content. Depending on the lighting, the color of the mollusk looks different. Despite the terrifying name, the baby does not pose any threat.
Bunny
This cute little eared grimpothevis really looks like a cartoon rabbit. The growths on the head that give the octopus such a touching appearance are fins.
Patterned flap
The textile cone got its name because of its unusual coloring, which resembles a pattern on fabric. The size of the shell varies from 4 to 15 centimeters. This beauty is very dangerous for humans - it secretes a highly toxic poison that causes dizziness and numbness of the limbs, and in some cases, paralysis.
Green leaf
The sea slug is very talented. He is the only living creature known to science that can carry out the process of photosynthesis. Which is only available to green plants.
Elephant
Indeed an elephant. Only small. Guiduck is the largest burrowing mollusk, named after the Indian word gweduck, which translates as “deep-digging.” The shell of the geoduck is symbolic and very fragile, and the siphon can reach a meter in length. The clam, also called king clam, is edible and highly prized in Japan.
Fluffy
Nudibranchs are creatures so surreal that they are difficult to immediately identify. The sea rabbit has an oval body 5-7 centimeters long, covered with pointed cone-shaped growths, and unusual tentacle ears that it can pull inward.
Needle miracle
Another representative of nudibranchs is the transparent carronella. The snow-white body of the mollusk is decorated with long, bright crimson cerata with white tips. This deep-sea miracle is also difficult to describe, but its appearance is definitely bright and bewitching.
