To give a lion a manicure, you need to be very, very careful. And this is not a joke at all.
The staff of the Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary (South Africa) know how to be careful, and this accuracy came in handy at the moment when a lion named Jubatus needed to shorten his overgrown claws.
Jubatus was bred in captivity, and then rescued from its former owner and brought to the reserve. The lion has a meek character, but his attitude towards the manicure procedure was unknown, so the veterinarian first gave the predator a sedative and only then began cutting it.
