A pub with cats - what could be more beautiful? In the British city of Bristol there is just such a thing. When a local man named Luke Daniels opened a regular pub, he had no idea that his establishment would soon become the first cat pub in the country.





A pub called Bag of Nails is located in the heart of the British city of Bristol. But this is not an ordinary British pub - in addition to the fact that you can relax, have a pint with friends and play board games, there are also cats. There are a lot of them here, and they are literally everywhere: on the bar counter, chairs and next to visitors. They are all well-groomed, well-fed and surrounded by care - they are loved here.

It all started when local resident Luke Daniels opened this pub in 2011. At first there were no cats here, and the owner calmly arranged everything, invited his friends, and they enjoyed their time in the pub. But not only visitors liked the pub. One day, that same year, a small stray kitten wandered into the establishment. The owner took pity and decided to take care of him, leaving him to live right in the pub.



Soon the kitten, named Malcolm, was joined by another stray cat, who also came to the door of the pub. Months later, the couple had kittens. So the establishment became more and more “cat-friendly”, and the owner didn’t mind - besides, it became a feature of the pub. Later, local street cats seemed to find out about this place and began to often come and ask for treats. This is how the pub formed its own cat crowd. All cats are absolutely free to move, and can always go for a walk on their own - but they all always return to the pub.

“We cannot guarantee that when you come to the pub, the cats will certainly be there. But if you plan to relax for a long time or come to us often, you will certainly meet them,” the owner said in an interview.





According to Daniels, all furbabies are different - and each has its own unique character and even special food preferences. Also, owners are always looked for for all the cats that live in the pub, and homes have already been found for some of them. The "cat pub" itself has become a hit establishment in Bristol over the years, attracting visitors from all over the world.
