The controversial story of the disappearance of a Canadian who may have made contact with aliens (8 photos)
Aliens are a hoax or a banal way to attract attention. And if not?
As in the case of Granger Taylor, a resident of the Canadian city of Duncan, who from childhood demonstrated, if not genius, then certainly great talent. The young man had an excellent understanding of any technology, easily disassembled and assembled any mechanisms, and in his teens he even assembled a car with his own hands.
Taylor as a child
Focus, composure and focus on results allowed Taylor to design his dream house. Many boys have one of these - an impromptu Indian wigwam or tree house. But Granger went further and, fascinated by space, assembled a shelter that resembled a flying saucer.
The next achievement was the restoration of the locomotive, then there was an airplane, on which the guy made decent money.
And then suddenly the man began to tell his friends that he had managed to establish contact with representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations. And new acquaintances invite him to visit to get acquainted with the technological achievements of their world.
Instructions and disappearance
On a November night in 1980, a man disappeared in an unknown direction, leaving a note for his family with the following content:
Mom and Dad, I went aboard a spaceship, as recurrent dreams indicate, for 42 months of interstellar travel to explore the vast universe and then return. I leave all my things to you since I won't be using them anymore. Please use the instructions in my will if you need help. With love. Granger.
The investigation yielded no results. The police were unable to find any clues, no possible location of the missing person, or the body. The search was further complicated by the fact that a storm raged on Vancouver Island on the night of the disappearance, which could have destroyed evidence.
Where are you, Granger?
With parents
The period specified in the note expired in May 1984. But the man did not return. Was he so impressed by other worlds that he left his home planet forever? Skeptics argued that everything was simpler: due to bad weather, the pickup truck of a strange genius could simply drive off the road or fall into the sea.
Two years later, a crater resembling the site of an explosion was discovered on Mount Prevost, not far from Duncan. Human bones were found in the ground. Forensic science was not yet so developed at that time. But the coroner was able to determine that the remains were those of a white male about Taylor's age.
Parts of a pickup truck were found nearby. The man was officially declared dead. But there were also controversial issues in the case. Thus, Taylor’s friend Robert Keller, who saw him on the eve of his disappearance, claimed that shortly before that he personally helped repaint the car pink. Whereas the parts found were blue. Plus, Taylor has repeatedly stated that he does not want a long investigation and search after his departure. Therefore, he will arrange his own death. That with a brilliant mind and ability to handle technology it would not be difficult.
The remains disappeared from the evidence warehouse some time later. Which only fueled the conversation among mysticism lovers. Who believed that Taylor was transported by the authorities to a closed zone to develop secret equipment or weapons.
Taylor's parents never received their son or even more or less clear answers regarding his disappearance. And his story remains one of the strangest cases of missing people in modern times.
