Gibbons are the only true brachiators

Other primates can move by waving their arms, but not very far without the help of other limbs (same tail in the case of monkeys).

Gibbons can swing their shoulders at over 30 miles per hour!

Brachiation is a form of locomotion that allows you to move along the branches of trees. Primates move in this way using only their hands. Brachiation is the main mode of movement for gibbons and siamangs in Southeast Asia. So these monkeys move 80% of the time on their hands.
