Many people associate the Middle Ages with the "Dark Ages" (plague, inquisition, famine, wars, tyranny, etc.). But in that era actively developed science, culture and art, which to this day us inspires. With a regular frequency, new video games are released today, films and series on medieval themes. They are usually pierced knightly pathos (in a good way), epic battles, palace intrigues and noble deeds. But, what about... laughter? Comedy also goes well with the theme of the Middle Ages. One Monty Python costs! So, if you want to look at some comedy "medieval" film or series, then we have something for you offer.

"Black Knight" (2001)

A comedy about a dark-skinned hitman, whose directors even before Netflix and Disney think about racial diversity and make it a feature your film. How well they did it is up to the viewer to judge.

"Witches" (1922)

This silent movie mixes comedy with horror because the plot tells of a medieval madness on the hunt for witches, from which innocent victims suffered. And you all know the music for sure, which was written for this film by the Danish composer Launi Gröndal.

"The Court Jester" (1955)

A film about a brutal struggle for power, in which the role of a rescue circle in the sea of greed and nonsense plays jester. Danny Kaye (jester) for this The comedy was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

"William ours, Shakespeare" (TV series, 2016–2020)

The screenwriter and directors without hesitation ridiculed all the speculation, concerning the figure of the great writer, as well as medieval laws (for example, men playing women on stage) and modern stereotypes. For lovers of humor, the series has gathered a galaxy of wonderful actors, who play by no means secondary roles, but for lovers Literature and history have the opportunity to test their knowledge on strength.

"Army of Brancaleone" (1966)

Italian-Spanish comedy about the adventures of a gang led by the knight of Brancaleone, who planned to snip off a piece of state land.

"The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" (2017)

There is not a single hit and time travel here, but there is one failed director and an old man who imagines himself to be Don Quixote. What is their binds and why is there the word “killed” in the title? You can find out about this just watching a comedy.

"Knight's Story" (2001)

Only a real knight could go against all the rules, but a squire who gave himself a noble name after his death mister. The film deliberately uses anachronisms to give comedy stories. For example, in some scenes you can hear hits Quenn, AC/DC and David Bowie.

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975)

We could not but include in this selection the legendary British gang of comedians. The film consists of endless sketches, absurd and funny absurdities. The fashion for jokes in the opening credits has probably gone right from them.

"Aliens" (1993)

A comedy with Jean Reno and Christian Clavier about hitmen from Middle Ages, abandoned in France at the end of the twentieth century. The film has continued in two more parts.
