Robbery of a high-end jewelry store in Tokyo
For several days now, the Japanese have been discussing a daring robbery by young men of 16-19 years old of an expensive watch store in Tokyo's prestigious Ginza district.
According to testimony and video footage taken by eyewitnesses, a group of three people wearing white masks (the fourth was waiting in the car) broke into the store. The robbers forced the seller to lie on the floor, threatening with a knife, then they began to break the windows and put the luxury watches in black bags.
Some passers-by were not indifferent to the disgrace that was happening before their eyes, for example, a fragile, fearless woman tried to close the door of the store in order to detain the criminals.
But the three robbers still safely left the store and fled in a white rental car.
None of the store employees were injured in the incident. According to preliminary estimates, the attackers took 70 hours worth about 23,000,000 yen.
The robbers were soon arrested.
Investigators found 30 watches in a black bag next to the criminals' car, and seized crowbars, knives and other stolen watches from the car.
Well, those caught red-handed were: 19-year-old and 18-year-old part-time workers, and a 16-year-old high school student living in Yokohama. All but the high school student confessed to the robbery.
