Opinion of the audience: failed films that did not deserve their popularity (15 photos)
Yesterday we made a post in which Reddit users called best-selling books, whose success, in their opinion, does not correspond at all to their content. Well, since we are talking about literature, then we need to talk about films talk. This time the topic touched on popular films that received an insane marketing campaign, raising viewer expectations to maximum. The participants in this discussion were not impressed by the films listed. from the word at all. Do you agree with their opinion or did they overdo it? By the way, what kind of "overhyped" film do you think is not here enough?
Golden Compass (2007)
Really good cast, but the plot is too condensed and edited from the original
Good thing there's a BBC version
We explain that we are talking about the series "Dark Materials" (2019-2022).
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (2010)
The creators didn't even read the book. Now Disney is doing series in which each season will be devoted to one book, and Rick Riordan (author) is an executive producer, so fingers crossed which will be much better.
In short (2017)
From the trailer, everything looked like a comedy. It was actually quite a depressing movie.
The longer you stare, the worse it gets
Pacific Rim 2 (2018)
I loved the first part and just wanted to dive deeper into the world. I wish I hadn't.
The Lion King (remake, 2019)
It was bearable until they ruined Scar's "Be Prepaired".
Dark Tower (2017)
The creators' idea probably sounded like this: "Hey, let's combine 7 books into 1 movie, what can go wrong? .."
Mulan (remake, 2020)
A total disappointment. Yes, I had high expectations, but the movie was very bad. I love the original and hate this remake.
Suicide Squad (2016)
This movie was advertised as if it was the second coming of Christ, but my God, it was terrible.
Death Note (2017)
Netflix adaptation of Death Note. The opening credits weren't over yet, and I was already furious.
Fantastic Beasts (2016-2022)
Every movie is about fantastic beasts. Well, are you serious? Prequel to "Harry Potter"? Should be good, right? No
I liked the first Fantastic Beasts. It was a completely new concept of immersion in a variety of creatures from "Harry Potter." The fact that in the next two films everything turns into pure the history of Grindelwald is ... fu. Not a fan of that.
Final Fantasy (2001)
I was so excited. The graphics were so amazing for of that time, and this is the production of Square Soft and their non-stop hits + amazing cinematography. As a result, I got bored already at the 20th minute movie.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Thor 4 trailer looked really good and everyone said it was will be great. Then we got 2 hours of screaming goats and unfunny jokes.
Jupiter Ascending (2015)
The trailers looked great. I like directors. Wow, that turned out bad!
Star Wars: Skywalker. Sunrise (2019)
Episode 9 of Star Wars. 42 years the franchise has led us to this, and all in all it's one of the worst movies i've ever seen.
Morbius (2022)
I honestly thought it might be a good movie.
