Australian blogger Brody Moss captured a unique moment while kayaking in the ocean. He suddenly saw the tail of a huge humpback whale sticking out of the water - and then filmed the whale itself underwater. Amazing meeting!

The footage was captured by Australian YouTuber and Tiktok star Brody Moss. He went to swim in a transparent kayak in the middle of the ocean, and from afar he saw something strange. Approaching, he realized that in front of him was the tail of a whale. It turns out that sometimes whales can perform this "headstand", and can be in this position for a long time. The encounter allegedly took place off the coast of Exmouth, Western Australia.

"What the hell is going on? My heart is beating so fast!" says the blogger in the video.

Then the guy took a portable camera and filmed what was happening under water: a huge humpback whale “hung” there, and a small cub swam near it. At the same time, whale singing can be heard in the distance. It is not known which of the whales sang, but they usually use such sounds as a way to communicate with each other.

Why do whales sometimes hang in this position? According to biologists, this is a way for them to relax, feed their young, or simply cool off. This way they can regulate their body temperature. However, there are no exact answers to this question.

“When it comes to the behavior of whales, much remains a mystery. It is currently unknown why they take this position. This has often been observed in populations of humpback whales in their winter breeding grounds, as well as in other species. Scientists have noticed that male humpback whales sing in this position, and at the same time emit sounds of higher amplitude," said Dr Denise Rish, a marine mammal ecologist with the Scottish Marine Science Association.

Male humpback whales can "sing" a complex 10 to 20 minute song that they repeat for hours. Perhaps some of them prefer to make sounds in this position with their tail up. This is not the first time people have noticed whale tails sticking out in the ocean. In 2016, for example, a whale was photographed in this position off the coast of Maui, Hawaii.

Офигенное видео!
Только камеры лучше на какой-нибудь ремешок привязывать (только не в рот, как оператор, ГЫ)... вдруг рука дрогнет, больно дорого будет.
