Vodopadny glacier in Altai turns red
The ice turned pink and red due to a massive algae bloom, according to Tomsk State University.
“We observe the accumulation of red algae on glaciers every year, but such a mass phenomenon has not been observed over the past more than 10 years,” TSU noted.
