Millicent Lillian "Peg" Entwhistle (1908-1932) - British actress who was born in Port Talbot (Wales). Childhood baby spent in London. She lost her mother early. Father married a second time and in 1916 moved his family – daughter, second wife Lauretta and two sons, born in a new marriage, to the States.

Peg was a teenager when her father died in an accident, and a year later stepmother died of illness. Custody of the children was issued by Uncle Charles - native father's brother. Perhaps so many losses at a tender age and left an imprint on the personality of the girl. But then she didn't talk about it yet. knew. 
Peg dreamed of an acting career and managed to be noted in several Broadway performances after graduating from the theater studio in Boston. Managed to visit a short-term unsuccessful marriage. And suddenly she luck smiled: Entwhistle was invited to audition for the film "Thirteen women." God knows what, of course - a chaotic melodrama about girlfriends, which suddenly began to come from a mysterious soothsayer ominous prophetic messages.

But it was not so important: a role in a Hollywood film opened up completely different horizons. Only at the test screening, despite on an all-star cast, the film received poor reviews. As a result, the studio recut the picture, significantly cutting Peg's screen time.
For the young actress, it was a disaster. After all, dreams of beautiful future collapsed overnight. The younger ones stepped on the heels and beautiful. And funds to go back to New York and try again himself on Broadway, was not. 
Entwhistle sank into a deep depression. September 16 she left a note to her uncle saying that she was going to unwind - to walk with friends. Two days later in one of the police stations Los Angeles, the phone rang: a woman walking in the mountains Sunday morning, found a slipper, a neatly folded coat, woman's purse, in which a note was found: “I'm afraid I'm a coward. The examination showed that she did not die immediately, for some time lay on the stones, experiencing wild pain due to multiple fractures.
Ironically, after opening Peg's mailbox letter found inside: Beverly Hills Theater Administration offered her one of the main roles in the new production. What it is noteworthy that at the end of the play the heroine had to commit suicide. 
The 24-year-old British woman did go down in history, although she played in just one movie. Posthumously. The story of Peg Entwhistle was played out in the series Netflix Hollywood.
