A firefighter in the US state of Arizona set fire to several houses and explained his actions as boredom and aesthetic preferences. 18-year-old firefighter Carson Nutter turned out to be the main suspect in eight cases of arson. As a result of his Four buildings burned down and four forest fires broke out.
The police detained Nutter and charged him with three arson and intentional damage to property and five charges of false reporting the incident to law enforcement. The man was assigned bail of two million dollars.
During interrogation, Nutter admitted to involvement in at least at least seven out of eight fires. He said that the motives for the arson ranged from boredom and revenge on a former employer to a desire to set fire to abandoned houses because they seemed ugly to him.
