In the appendage, she lost money and gained criminal prosecution.

Another gullible pensioner has become a toy in the hands of unscrupulous scammers. A week ago, a resident of Gomel received a call from an "employee of the Criminal Investigation Department of Minsk" and said that 10 loans were issued in her name. The crime, according to the swindler, was committed by an unscrupulous bank employee and her boss. After that, the dumbfounded pensioner was connected with a "competent employee of the National Bank of Belarus."

During the conversation, the fraudster convinced the victim to take part in the "special operation". In case of refusal, he warned, it would not be possible to cancel the loans taken in her name. The first step was to transfer money to the account indicated by the scammer. The pensioner took out two bank loans totaling $7,000 and asked her daughter to take another $800 loan.

It is noteworthy that the fraudster processed the pensioner for a week. They talked on personal topics for 5-6 hours a day, according to the Investigative Committee of Belarus. After the swindler managed to get into confidence, he said that the bank employee and her boss who had taken the loan in her name were going to flee the country. And to prevent this, it is necessary to burn their cars. According to the instructions received, on Thursday morning the pensioner arrived at the bank's parking lot on Barykina Street, doused the wheel with a combustible mixture and set it on fire. Then she went to the second address, where the second car was parked, and repeated the same steps there.

The woman committed both arsons under the watchful eye of a swindler who watched everything via video link.

Subsequently, investigators determined that the destroyed cars did not belong to law enforcement officers or banks. And the "saboteur", who until the last believed that she was counteracting the bankers who were stealing, was detained and placed in an isolation cell. A criminal case was opened against a gullible pensioner under Part 2 of Art. 218 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (deliberate destruction of another's property). Investigative actions are now being carried out with her participation. But the police did not find the main villains. And, most likely, it is unlikely to succeed.
