In a zoo in Malaysia, a cat settled in an aviary with capybaras (5 photos + 2 videos)
Capybaras have welcomed a cat into their flock at a Malaysian zoo. The animals became so attached to each other that the administration added a nameplate with the name of a fluffy red-haired guest.
Malaysian Zoo Negara has a new pet however, it is by no means a rare species. However, a cute red cat nicknamed Oyen, it seems that he no longer considers himself a member of the family felines, but capybaras.
Oyen made friends with local capybaras - so much so that they accepted him into their flock. The zoo management even officially recognized his permanent resident of the capybara enclosure and hung a sign at the entrance cat.
It is not clear when Oyen settled with capybaras, but for the first time the cat appeared in their enclosure during feeding a couple of years ago.
Despite the fact that capybaras are herbivores, and cats are predators, Oyen periodically came to them for lunch.
Perhaps the cat was driven by simple curiosity, but in the end he began to eat bread and leaves together with new friends. With time the zoo staff began to give Oyen cat food.
Communication is not limited to food - for example, on one of video cat sleeping snuggled up to capybaras on a rainy day, writes Mustsharenews.
