“They called me a monkey”: what a girl with a rare skin disease looks like (6 photos)
Beatriz Pugliese is a 28-year-old Brazilian. Since childhood Beatrice has faced disapproval of appearance due to a rare skin ailment.
80% of a girl's body is covered with birthmarks. She was called in childhood as a monkey. This condition occurs in 1 in 500,000 people.
Naturally, she tried to get rid of birthmarks. She underwent many operations so that her skin became like the rest.
However, in 2008, she decided that she had had enough - and stopped doing surgery. She completely took on her appearance and uniqueness.
The unique appearance did not prevent Beatrice from finding the love of all life and be happy. She is married to 30-year-old Felipe Koroboff, with whom she met at the FIFA World Cup, held in Brazil. The couple have been together for 9 years and the husband takes on the body and features wives.
Felipe says he likes his wife's birthmarks and jokes that he would not pay attention to her and would not fall in love if it were not for birthmarks. Felipe also admitted that he has favorite spots on the body of Beatrice, for example, a round spot on the forehead, which he calls "royal spot".
The support of loved ones helped the girl to believe in her beauty, she was never condemned in the family circle.
Beatriz works as a biologist and in her free time helps people with skin diseases to socialize.
"It may seem like a cliche, but it's true, we all need to accept ourselves as we were born," Beatrice said.
