On June 14, the Russian army fired on the boats of German volunteer rescuers around 19:00 local time, said American activist Dylan Burns, filming the consequences of the breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper.
As a result of the shelling, British volunteer John Jones was wounded, writes Burns. The fact that the rescuers were shelled was also confirmed by the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine - in total, two rescuers who evacuated the local population were injured under fire.
Today, the pro-military telegram channel “Disgusting 8” posted a video of the shelling of boats on the Dnieper. “And here are the boats with enemy infantry, due to the inability to pass under the bridge, stand near the coast, where the artillery crew of the Livadia PMC is already waiting for them. Bravo guys,” wrote the author of the channel.
Apparently, we are talking about the Livadia unit, created by the “head” of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, which, according to the authorities, has been fighting since January 2023. Earlier, "Important stories" said that one of the detachments of Aksenov's unit was commanded by the curator of the PMC "Wagner" in Africa Konstantin Pikalov with the call sign "Mazai".
Dylan Burns identified the same boats of German volunteers in the boats under fire, the work of which he was filming at the time of the shelling.
The Ukrainian authorities have reported several times that Russian troops are firing at civilian boats on the Dnieper. So, on June 8, nine people were injured under Russian shelling, including a volunteer from Germany, a rescuer and a policeman.
