Venezuelan environmentalists release 20,000 endangered Arrau tortoises into the wild

Activists specially caught the kids and took care of them for years, so that they reach sizes sufficient to survive in harsh conditions. Arrau was listed in the Red Book - they disappear because of the people. Poachers catch them and sell them for meat, and the shells are used for crafts.
