In South Korea, a gang of eight people was detained. They are entirely rented a hotel in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, and within months they dug an underground tunnel from it to a nearby oil pipeline. The criminals were caught just at the moment when they practically reached the goal.





It is believed that this cunning plan was developed by the former an employee of the Korean state pipeline operator Daehan Oil Pipeline Corporation, who was previously fired for trying to steal oil from another pipeline.

The criminals rented a hotel near their target under pretext that they wish to acquire it, and spent most of day, digging with the simplest tools so as not to attract attention to loud sounds.



The attackers looked around the hotel for a long time before contacting with his owner and convince him that they are determined to take hotel business. They rented it for 4.5 million won a month, immediately closed the hotel allegedly for repairs and began to dig in the basement of the building. They only worked with shovels and picks to keep the noise down, but in finally managed to achieve their goal.

In about a month, eight people were able to dig about 10 meters of tunnel 78 cm high and 81 cm wide. To the desired oil pipeline only 30 centimeters remained. Happiness was so possible!
