14. An interesting fact about the candles of prostitutes
At the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century, French prostitutes constantly kept on hand just such sets of candles in beautiful boxes. Each such candle burned for about 7 minutes and was lit at the beginning of the “session”. The paid period ended when the candle burned out. Then a man had to either put on the states and leave, or continue the session, paying more one candle.
