He took wooden blocks from a company that has been producing them since the 60s, and began to build giant figures and towers. His work is amazing in scale and attention to detail!
To create his figures, the Italian artist Raffaele Salvoldi uses wooden blocks from the Dutch company KAPLA, which has been manufacturing them since the 1960s. He started to practice assembling towers during the pandemic, and then his hobby grew into large-scale project called Wood Arc. His impressive work are gaining fame all over the world. The creation of such wooden structures - the result of careful and painstaking work, sensitive attention to detail and love for your work. Each of these sculptures requires less than three weeks. Sometimes the period is extended up to four months, in depending on the complexity of the design.
Another feature - the artist collects and installs his creations in atmospheric places filled with art and culture. "IN Europe has many beautiful places: palaces, exhibition halls and historical buildings. Some of them are known to many - and others are less popular, but sometimes they can be given a second life. I install my works just in such almost forgotten, charming spaces. Thanks to art installations that slowly build and come to life here, the place acquires a special atmosphere," the artist writes.
