A photographer filming the northern lights in Alaska spotted the sky giant mysterious funnel. The photos ended up on the web users put forward their assumptions.
Explorer and photographer Todd Salat captured the spiral in the sky against the backdrop of the peak of Donnelly Dome - an ancient glaciation, which formed about 100,000 years ago.
