The President of Northern Cyprus fell while trying to head the ball
Such a football player, of course.
President of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar decided to show his football skills, but something went wrong. He volunteered to kick the ball with the street team and apparently wanted to impress the kids. As a result, he was so carried away by the process that he almost paid with his health.
At some point, the ball was at the gate and Ersin Tatar decided to effectively drive his head into the goal. But instead, he fell spectacularly, almost smashing his head on the crossbar. Fortunately, the president of the unrecognized republic escaped with bruises and abrasions.
Ersin Tatar took over as President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in November 2020. The politician is considered a supporter of Turkish President Erdogan. Tatar does not advocate, as his predecessors did, for the possible unification of Cyprus into a federal state, but believes that every nation should have its own state.
