In Turkey, female arm wrestling champions did not share the podium
And the thing is that the second and third places were taken by athletes from Kazakhstan Diana Tyukova and Dana Asanova, and the first place was taken by the representative of Turkey Caglayan Derya Ceren. At the awards ceremony, the Kazakh women unfurled the flag of their country together, thus blocking the first step of the pedestal.
Ceren did not like this arrangement. Firstly, she took her place at the highest level, and secondly, Turkey is the hostess of the championship, so the athlete defiantly unfurled the Turkish flag over the Kazakh one.
Tyukova and Asanova, in response to this, again pulled their flag to the fore.
The "geopolitical confrontation" continued for some time. As a result, the flag of Kazakhstan was unfurled over the head of Jeren, who could not do anything, as she stood with her back to him and, moreover, at that time they brought her the won gold medal.
I would like to say that friendship won in the end, but it is not known how the end of the ceremony ended, which was not caught on video.
