An elderly woman in a Renault knocked down five people
At the metro station Komendantsky Prospekt at the intersection of Utochkina Street and Komendantskaya Square, a 68-year-old woman in a Renault Sandero drove onto the sidewalk and knocked down five people.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred due to the fact that the driver became ill at the wheel.
“As a result of an accident, two women, born in 1954 and 1955, were hospitalized in serious condition. Three more female pedestrians, born in 1952, 1961 and 1998, were hospitalized in a state of moderate severity," the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region said in a statement.
The employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and passers-by had to lift the Renault to get one of the victims out of there.
