Many would like to climb to the top of the Egyptian pyramid, but it is impossible (6 photos)

However, in the past, people have managed to climb the famous Giza pyramids. And they said it was worth it!

How wonderful it must be to stand on top of one of the the most ancient and famous structures of mankind that have seen Roman legionnaires, pharaohs, the Macedonian army ...

And the view from them is incredible - the desert, the whole of Cairo at a glance.

That's just for many years climbing historical monuments strictly prohibited by law. As well as a free visit to the tombs inside pyramids.

And if you can still go inside, only with an agreed excursion, then you can’t get to the top. It is a crime.

On the one hand, there is no separate law that would prohibit climbing the Egyptian pyramids.

But on the other hand, in 1983 a document was adopted that introduced liability for violation of the rules for visiting historical monuments, harmful or obscene behavior in museums and protected historical territories. Since then, they gradually began to tighten requirements for tourists, which included restrictions on climbing pyramids.

In 2019, the authorities adopted a number of amendments to the law and the penalties became more tangible.

For violation of the rules for visiting the historical complex, where there are pyramids, a tourist can be fined 5 thousand dollars and arrest for a month. And for climbing as well.

If the monument is damaged, then imprisonment is also possible. for up to 3 years. And, of course, deportation and a life ban on entry into Egypt.

But, as they say, the world is full of fools, so there are enough daredevils. They usually buy a ticket to enter the territory in the evening. There they hide just before closing time and at dawn climb that side that is not visible from the police barracks and the place where security is sitting. Violators meet an incredibly beautiful dawn, and then quickly go down and fly out of the country so as not to get punishment for their insolence. Why is it forbidden?

The first reason is the preservation of monuments. There are a lot of tourists and pyramids are thousands of years old - stones crumble and stagger under the influence of winds and time. And the tops are in the worst condition. Therefore, we introduced a restriction on the rise.

By the way, for the same reason, they limited the ascent to the top of the Mayan pyramids.

The second reason is security. Very often tourists could not to descend on their own, and rescue operations are expensive and involve lots of difficulties.

Well, the third, the saddest: vandalism. Although modern Egyptians are descendants of the Arabs and are not related to the ancient culture that created the pyramids, but they gradually understood them cultural and historical value. They are proud of the uniqueness of their homeland and preserve its monuments. And tourists on top of the pyramids and porn tried shoot, and danced, and played golf, and painted stone, and pieces were broken off to take away as a keepsake.
