The antelope escaped from a small crocodile, but ended up in the mouth of a huge
Another thriller from the life of the wild, filmed in the Kruger National Park
The video, vividly illustrating the harsh laws of nature, was recorded by tourists in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. A group of wildebeests were quenching their thirst at a small pond when a crocodile jumped out of the water. The predator immediately grabbed one of the ungulates, while the rest of the herd started off.
Once in the water, the wildebeest clung to life with all her might, and she almost managed to get back to the shore: because of her modest size, the crocodile could not immediately drown the victim. However, the antelope did not have a chance to survive.
A few moments later, a huge crocodile appeared at the scene of the fight, quickly dragging the prey under the water.
The unfolding scene was a shock for the girl who was watching what was happening, whose crying is heard off-screen. She desperately prayed for the wildebeest to get out of the mouth of the crocodile and shared her experiences with her father, who was clearly much more philosophical about such scenes.
The wildebeest is one of the 17 species of antelope found in the Kruger National Park. In total, about 170 thousand antelopes live in the reserve.
