Time capsule: an apartment that has not been opened for 70 years and did not know about its existence (6 photos)
Sometimes everyone wants to be a hundred years in the past. Well, let not a hundred - at least 80, just out of curiosity to see how people lived and breathed. And such an opportunity arose for a very wealthy French, heirs of Madame de Florian.
This French woman died when she was 91 years old. Madame was a wealthy lady, and she lived in the south of Europe. And when her heirs already after death, they sorted through the documents, it suddenly turned out that they were almost that they hit the jackpot - although their grandmother did not tell them anything, however, all life, as it turned out, she paid the rent for a huge apartment in Paris. At the same time, they did not even suspect that she had at least once been to the capital of the country.
A young girl left Paris at only 23 years old, right in 1939 year, just before the German occupation. She just locked apartment on the key, and never returned there. How, in fact, to the capital.
As a result, the heirs found specialists who were to open a real time capsule, where, it would seem, no one has ever happened - when they turned the key in the lock, it seemed that they were about to plunge into the distant 1939.
Everything in the apartment was shrouded in dust and cobwebs, but it seemed as if time stood still there - everything was so in perfect condition, as if the girl who left the apartment is about to return home. Even the toilet the table seemed to say that in the evening the hostess would take off her jewelry and look in the mirror again. There was even a toy Mickey Mouse and a pig Porky. However, the paintings were nevertheless removed from the walls - apparently, the girl I wanted to take them with me, but something prevented her.
In particular, there was a portrait of the woman's grandmother - a famous actress Martha de Florian, which was written by the Italian Giovanni Boldini. And this the woman drove many of her contemporaries crazy - including the premiere countries.
By the way, no one really knew that the portrait existed. However, love letters from the Italian were preserved in the apartment, and his the signature was eloquent. As a result, looking ahead, the canvas was sold for auction for 2.4 million euros, and the painting turned out to be the most expensive of all that belong to the brush Boldini.
The apartment is now closed to the general public. However, if you have 10 million euros, you can buy apartments - they are located on banks of the Seine, but require repair.
