Nissan Figaro: A cute little car for collectors on a budget (15 pics + 1 video)
Designed to meet strict size restrictions in densely populated parts of Japan, some small JDM vehicles have become cult. Nissan Figaro looks like vintage, but it's more modern classic. 
In the late 1980s, Nissan was swept up in a passion for retro technology. Of course, not from scratch: in Japanese society, the popularity of retro cars and Nissan, rightly judging that to make voyages many people love classical technology, and to support it in operational condition - only a couple of people decided to offer consumers retro style on modern units! 
The so-called "Japanese financial bubble" inflated with a terrible force, it was possible to deal with any projects - money was not just a lot, but a lot! Nissan launched a line of so-called Pike Cars: Pao, Be-1 and extremely strange S-Cargo, but the final product program became the Nissan Figaro - a very nice little car. 
Figaro was introduced in 1989 at the Tokyo Motor Show under slogan (or motto, if you think the word slogan is too politicized) "Back to the Future". Maybe you wanted to catch a wave the popularity of the Robert Zemeckis franchise "Back to the Future", the second part which was released once in 1989, but the car is there on Figaro completely different ;) Not only technically, but also ideologically! 
On the technical side, Figaro was based on the March / Micra platform - popular urban hatchback. Appearances gave the features of a classic Datsun Fairlady, but the similarity can only be seen in the round headlights. Figaro turned out to be quite self-sufficient, with an interesting body: frames its side windows are stationary, and the central part of the roof leans back along with the rear window. Beautiful and safe! 
You can't really put anything in the trunk. According to Japanese tradition, a spare tire is a dokatka, it is also a "banana" 
Under the hood - a non-alternative liter turbocharged engine 76 horsepower. The car is not about sports, but up to 170 km / h can accelerate. A three-speed automatic is also not about dynamics, Figaro about style and calm movement through a happy life! Dolce vita. 
There were four color options to choose from: Topaz Mist (autumn), Emerald Green (spring), Pale Aqua (summer) and Lapis Gray (winter) - "The Times years" Vivaldi did not sound in your head ?!
The car was extremely popular with the public. In production Figaro was only one year, but the original plan of 8000 units had to expand to 20,000 machines. And this was not enough. Purchase right Nissan Figaro was played in the lottery. Oh how! 
The presented car in October 2022 was sold at auction in California for $30,000. There are such Figaro in Russia, but today not a single copy was found for sale either on Avto.ru or on the Drome.
