The American nuclear submarine USS Rhode Island can carry 24 Trident II intercontinental missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 18,000 km. On board such a submarine can be from 150 to 200 nuclear warheads. Its appearance in the Mediterranean is considered a hint from Russia that nuclear weapons should not be used.
