Scientists have found that bumblebees love to play for fun
It is generally accepted that insects exist only due to their instincts. They are like little robots that are only programmed for a small list of tasks. However, researchers from the Queen Mary University of London found that, for example, bumblebees quite love to have fun. Scientists have taught these furry creatures to roll balls. And the bumblebees liked this fun.
Bumblebees lived in a nest, from which they could freely enter the chamber with syrup and pollen. But on the way from the nest to the "dining room" they had another chamber, where there were balls, each a little larger than a bumblebee. The balls were located so as not to block the passage. That is, nothing prevented him from going to a meal, however, the balls captured their attention. And it is important to note that there were no treats in the "game room". The bumblebees just wanted to chase the balls.
