One of the most fascinating dives into history is looking at old photographs that give an idea of the significant events, socially significant phenomena, famous personalities, triumphs and tragedies of humanity of the past.

Victorian era photographs. The picture was taken near Longford Castle in England. Margaret Pleydell-Bouverie (d. 1924). Her father, Sir Jacob Pleydell-Bouverie (1815-1889), later 4th Earl of Radnor, is standing in profile to the right of the horse's head.
The Great Blizzard of 1888 in New York.
The photo shows the aftermath of one of the most powerful blizzards in US history. Many cities were heavily covered with snow, and squally winds destroyed everything in their path. Snowdrifts in some places reached a height of 15 meters, which is why many residents could not leave their homes for a week.

Most likely, disinfectors fight bubonic plague or smallpox. At that time, there were a lot of infectious diseases and pandemics.
