Monster catfish are huge fish from the Chernobyl pond
Scientists working in Chernobyl are increasingly paying attention to the appearance of new species of animals in the abandoned territory of the nuclear power plant. Among the strange species there are also fish - stalkers found a colony of huge catfish in the reactor coolant tank.
The discovery was accidental: the stalkers wanted to study what was happening at the sarcophagus. Then someone from the group decided to go behind the bridge fence. Fortunately, the guide noticed the daredevil in time and stopped him. And then he showed the reason: a little further, at the depths of the pond, catfish of incredible size swarmed.
Catfish are not the first species to change at a rapid rate. UK scientists working at the site have even begun to classify the new species.
