Fertility genius from Uganda: 39-year-old single mother raising her 38 children by herself (9 photos + 1 video)
They say that children are the flowers of life. Well, then we can safely say that Mariam Nabatanzi from Uganda has her own botanical garden! At 39, the woman is a mother... attention, 38 children! Mariam’s eldest son is 23 years old, the youngest is only 5 months old.
Mariam Nabatanzi is called the most prolific mother in Uganda. The woman is only 39 years old, so it is possible that her family will grow. Now Mariam has 38 children, in total she gave birth to 44 children, but lost six soon after giving birth.
Mariam Nabatanzi got married when she was only 13. The husband was much older than the girl, he hurt and insulted his young wife, but, according to the laws of this African country, she had no choice... When the couple had a large number of children, the husband left Mariam, and now she is raising her 38 offspring herself.
It is noteworthy that all of Mariam’s children, including the last baby, were born naturally, and she never experienced any complications during pregnancy and childbirth. After the birth of her 23rd child, the woman turned to doctors to find out what was causing her abnormal fertility, but they just shrugged their shoulders...
Mariam asked the doctors to sterilize her, but she was refused, citing that this operation would cause irreparable harm to her health.
All the children of this unique woman were born from one man.
Mariam's children include six pairs of twins, four pairs of triplets and three pairs of quadruplets. Three more times she gave birth to one child.
It is not difficult to guess that raising such a number of children is incredibly difficult, especially under the conditions currently observed in Uganda. That is why journalist Kassim Kairi, who told Mariam’s story on his Facebook page, asks everyone who cares to help this family with money.
The fundraiser for the family was started by Ugandan citizen Karo Omu after reading about Mariam's story on the Internet.
"Our goal is to raise at least 10 thousand pounds (870 thousand rubles) for Mariam. This money will help the poor woman give better care to her children, the medical care they need and organize her own business to improve her quality of life in the future."
Already, more than 7,800 pounds (680 thousand rubles) have been collected for the Nabatanzi family.
Having the opportunity to speak in front of the camera, Mariam addressed all the men and asked them not to leave their families, because children need the care of both parents.
