A female cheetah at the St. Louis Zoo gave birth to eight cubs - a record number for cheetahs in captivity.
It is noted that three to four cubs are usually born in a litter. This time three males and five females were born. This happened at the end of November, but the zoo management reported this only the other day.
The mother and cubs are doing well, but zoo visitors will not be able to see them for several months.
