A Chihuahua was rescued in Pittsburgh after being fed to the point of obesity and then thrown into the street (9 photos)
A year ago, nine-year-old Chihuahua Liu-Seal from Pittsburgh weighed seven kilograms - about two to three times more than other dogs of this breed. The owners of the overfed Chihuahua threw the dog onto the street, where shelter employees found it.
The new owner put Liu-Sil on a diet, on which the Chihuahua managed to lose almost three kilograms.
When Julia Morley adopted Lu-Seal, the dog could barely walk due to her enormous weight for a Chihuahua: she weighed more than seven kilograms. Due to obesity, the dog developed arthritis and ligaments were torn in its hind legs.
The veterinarian put Liu-Sil on a special diet and training program that helped the dog get back to normal. Of course, she still can’t be called slender, but she definitely doesn’t have problems with movement.
Liu-Sil in the process of losing weight
Liu-Sil takes medications prescribed by her doctor to treat her joints and walks a lot. Her path to the correct weight has not yet been fully completed, and the owner is closely monitoring the condition of her pet.
