Eight-track cassettes are a structure measuring 8x12x2cm (approximately), in the body of which there is a tape glued into a ring. The width of the tape is the same as that of stationary tape recorders; four stereo tracks are recorded on the tape (that is, 8 tracks in total). These four fragments are played back endlessly, the desired one is selected by turning on the corresponding tracks from the front panel of the tape recorder. The working track is indicated using a simple display. The quality of the resulting sound is much higher than that of cassette recorders and is close to reel-to-reel.

The Amfiton-301 TV radio has been produced by the Minsk Computer Equipment Plant since 1984.
A small batch of devices were produced with dial indicators for regulating the recording level, as well as indicating fine tuning to the frequency. Later, the indicator was replaced by a system for automatically adjusting the recording level, abbreviated as ARUZ.
The portable TV recorder ''Amfiton-301'' was produced in Minsk, at the computer equipment plant. The model is designed for receiving television programs in b/w image in any of the channels of the MV or UHF wavelength range, receiving radio broadcasts in the DV, SV, HF and VHF bands and for recording sound programs from the microphone, TV, receiver, and other sources built into the radio and their reproduction.
The TV path uses: AGC, AFC and F. The model uses a 16LK1B kinescope with a diagonal of 16 cm, channel selectors SKM-24-1 and SKD-24. The receiver is equipped with automatic frequency control and silent tuning in the VHF range, scale illumination, and a dial tuning indicator (in a small series).
The tape panel is equipped with a tape counter and an ARUZ system. To eliminate interference when recording in the MW and LW ranges due to beats between the oscillations of the local oscillator and the harmonics of the erasure generator, it is possible to change the frequency of the generator.
The TV radio uses a 3GD-38 loudspeaker, there are jacks for headphones, a high-frequency tone control, indicators of connection to the electrical network and the degree of battery discharge. The radio can be powered from the mains via an external power supply or from ten A-373 type elements and an external 12 volt source.
