Yesterday, when one of the most discussed news of the day was the brutal murder of a 4-year-old girl, federal television channels chose to remain silent about this incident. The TV channels “Channel One”, “Russia-1”, REN TV and NTV did not show this story on air, however, text messages about what happened were published on their websites. According to one version, a recommendation was received not to cover this event, as this could attract increased attention to the national issue. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov denied such information. "This is wrong. It was the channels themselves who did not show the crazy people. But we support them,” Peskov said.
