"Komsomolskaya Pravda", November 1927. Two weeks before Christmas, Komsomolskaya Pravda published entire pages of anti-religious propaganda. Christmas is called a holiday of gluttony and drunkenness; instead, Komsomol members are offered a variety of “events” - concerts in clubs, skating and skiing, dancing. Putting up Christmas trees and celebrating the Nativity of Christ was considered reprehensible - to the point of banning the sale of Christmas trees. Muscovites, however, continued to celebrate the holiday on December 25 and 26, as usual.

The newspaper criticizes the poor work of officials from the Union of Atheists. Despite all the efforts of the authorities, the size of the union was reduced by four. For two million residents of Moscow there are “only” 7,600 “atheists.”
