Police in the American city of Melbourne, Florida, arrested a 79-year-old man, Frank Freshwaters, who escaped from prison 56 years ago and all this time lived under the name William Cox, working as a truck driver. The Ohio resident was apprehended on May 4 and is now in custody awaiting transport to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
In 1957, 23-year-old Frank received a suspended sentence with a period of probation for manslaughter of a pedestrian he hit. By court decision, Freshwaters was deprived of his driver's license, but in 1959 he got behind the wheel, after which he went to prison. In the same 1959, the convict escaped and hid all this from the police.
