Every day the Russian automobile industry has a new concept. Yesterday there was Volga Siber. Today - a new Lada from AvtoVAZ.
The new “Project C” will begin to be made in a few years in Togliatti at a new plant built jointly with the Canadian company Magna.
Below are a few more photos of the new car and a short description.
In terms of its dimensions, the Lada “Project C” is significantly superior to the already familiar Priora. If the latter is 4350 mm long, then the length of the new car is 4570 mm. So far, only a sedan has been shown to the audience, but the plans of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant include a hatchback and a station wagon. Moreover, options for creating other bodies are being considered, including coupes, minivans and even crossovers!
Representatives of AVTOVAZ assured that when creating a new car, much attention is paid not only to design (which, by the way, is not bad), but also to safety. It is expected that the new model will receive five stars in crash tests. It’s hard to say whether VAZ engineers will succeed or not.
Under the hood of “Project C” (as long as the model bears this name) 1.6 liter engines will be installed. and 2.0 l. (a 1.8-liter unit may also appear). The base engine will produce 102 hp. at 6000 rpm. But the 2.0-liter unit will delight you with 140 “horses”, thanks to which the car can accelerate to 202 km/h.
“How much will the Lada Project C cost? This question will worry all residents of Russia for several more years. But don't expect the new Lada to be cheap. After all, the basic equipment of this model will receive power accessories, air conditioning, airbags, an ABS system with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist (BA) and much more. Moreover, there will even be an ESP anti-skid system and side airbags as an option!
