How to make backgammon with your own hands (39 photos)
A man with the right hands decided to make backgammon in his free time. The first step was to draw up a detailed drawing of all elements and materials. Let's look at the manufacturing process.

Next, all the components of the future creation were purchased:
- birch plywood
- slats
-loops
The rest was found at home.
So, let's start sanding the plywood, because... there are irregularities and burrs.
I decided to make backgammon with drawings of dragons. We mark and apply a drawing of the “inner” side through the capir paper.
Next, I start burning out the design. This is a rather dreary and difficult task (considering that I am doing this for the second time in my life). So, let’s burn it out...
We do the same with the second half of the board. We get two identical halves.
We do the same with the “outside” side.
We begin the next stage - painting with “stain” in 2 layers. The stain was purchased using alcohol, because... “water-based” will make the plywood very rough.
Similarly with the “inner” side of the board
We continue with the design of the “outside” side. To complete the look, add corners and a frame.
Painting with stain in 2 layers
And varnish coating also in 2 layers
Now the hardest part in my opinion. Because my apartment is devoid of milling and lathes, everything had to be cut by hand. First we prepare the slats. Cut off the required length (all according to the drawing)
Marking future slots for chips
Drilling
Next, carefully, with a very sharp knife, select the grooves
We produce 4 such slats. The finishing and polishing process was not captured, because... 2 hands and both were busy. We begin to mark the playing field.
And we burn it out
We begin to glue all the elements, having previously adjusted everything in length and width.
We coat the inside with three layers of varnish (for durability of the coating)
Now you need to install the hinges so that the backgammon folds. Again, very carefully and with a very sharp knife, select the groove for the loop.
We try it on - it fits. We notice the holes and assemble them with self-tapping screws.
At the request of the turner, chips were turned from a found beech block.
Yeah, here’s the treasured stain...
And... 15 out of 30 chips turn from “white” to “black”
Assembled outer side
Assembled inner side. Ready for the championship. The first move is 5/4.
That's all I wanted to say. Thank you all for your attention!
