Ekranoplans are high-speed, low-flying vessels that use a screen effect when moving, which greatly increases the load-bearing properties of the wing. In order for an ekranoplan to take off, a large reflective surface is needed - a screen. It can be used as a surface of water, a snow and ice field, or any flat earth surface. With a displacement of more than 400 tons, the Rescuer ekranoplan is capable of cruising speeds of up to 550 km/h. Flight range is up to 3 thousand km.
