There are people who are pathologically afraid of clowns. After all, these red-nosed ones are not always so funny and do not always amuse the kids. Some of them can be quite creepy. On the eve of Halloween, let's remember the devil's dozen evil clowns, whose main vocation is to instill fear in the audience.
1. It, 1990
In this Hollywood adaptation of Stephen King's book, Tim Carrey plays Pennywise the Clown, a creature whose appearance depends on the fears of his victims. While Ono could occasionally feed on adults, its main menu item was small children. (CAT'S / CORBIS KIPA)
2. Killer clowns from outer space, 1988
In this comedy horror movie, an army of alien clowns terrorize the American town of Crescent Cove. Killer clowns use blasters, from the rays of which people turn into jelly, thus becoming easy prey for alien clowns. (Transworld / Everett)

4. Catch the killer, 1992
In this made-for-TV film, Brian Dennehy played real-life serial killer John Wayne Gacy Jr. who committed crimes until 1978 when he was caught. Dennehy portrays Gacy as Pogo the Clown, a character the killer created himself. He was it at charity events, parades and children's parties. Gacy confessed to killing 25-30 people over a period of six years. He hid the bodies of 26 of them in the basement of his house. (Creative Entertainment Group / Everett)

6. Spawn, 1997
In the film adaptation of the Spawn comic, John Leguizamo played a demon from hell with the appearance of a clown with bad hair, and also obese. He spends his days torturing Spawn, the protagonist of the comic. (New Line Cinema / Everett)
7. House of Clowns, 1989

9. Homey D. Clown
A sketch show character played by Damen Wayans. Homi D. Clown is a clown with deep-seated aggression and anger towards others. He is forced to work as a clown, as it is part of his reform program, but he himself hates to play or joke. (Everett)
10. Doink the Clown
A villain in the world of wrestling named Doink first appeared in 1992, making fun of fans and wrestlers. Doink was played by several different people, and he "retired" in 1994. (WWE)
11. Zombieland, 2009.
This comedy-horror film, set in a post-apocalyptic America, stars Woody Harrelson. In a world where almost all people have turned into evil walking dead, the heroes go to a distant amusement park, where they believe there are no zombies. But they are wrong - after all, there are whole crowds of walking corpses waiting for them, among which is this clown performed by actor Derek Graf.
12. Halloween 2007
The 1978 horror remake introduced Michael Myers to the world, whoRoy, at the age of 10, began his bloody career by brutally murdering a local bully, an older sister, and several others on Halloween night. Until the age of 21, he was imprisoned in a psychiatric ward, but he managed to escape, after which he returned to his hometown, where he continued his bloody massacre. (Dimension Films / Everett)
13. The Dark Knight, 2008
In the adaptation of Christopher Nolan's Batman comic, Heath Ledger played Batman's nemesis, the Joker. For this role, Ledger was nominated for an Oscar posthumously.
