The water of Norway's Mardalsfossen is used for hydroelectric power. From June 20 to August 20, it is released into the riverbed, and the cascade becomes full-flowing again.
The total height of the cascade is 655 meters, with a free fall of 297 meters. It is located in the Eikesdalen Valley. That is why people come here in the summer for this view: the water release season lasts just two months.
