The World Beard and Moustache Championships might just be the best thing to ever happen to facial hair. This year, hundreds of men gathered in Texas to compete for the title of the world's best beard. 
This year's facial hair showdown drew over 700 competitors facing off across 26 distinct categories. Hopefuls had to meet one crucial requirement before entering: proving to the judges that their beard was 100% real. The event kicked off on World Beard Day, celebrated on the first Saturday of September. 
Photographer Greg Anderson was on hand to capture portraits of the most standout contestants on stage. 
The title of "Best Beard 2017" ultimately went to Jason Kiley.
