Electric Range Rover Sport Makes First Public Appearance (19 Photos)

In 2026, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport lineups are set for a mid-cycle refresh. Alongside subtle styling tweaks and modern tech upgrades, both models will feature fully electric versions for the first time in the brand's history. While electric Range Rover prototypes have been spotted testing on numerous occasions—and the automaker itself showcased the current body style without camouflage—it is now time for prospective buyers to get a glimpse of the Sport-badged SUV.





A prototype of the all-electric Range Rover Sport was brought to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, though it was unveiled at an exclusive side event rather than during the main program. The test mule still wears the body of the current RRS, but it sits on a new set of wheels designed for the facelifted model.

Land Rover promises that despite the switch to an electric powertrain, the Range Rover Sport will retain both its trademark on-road agility and its full suite of off-road capabilities. Brand representatives demonstrated this firsthand with hot laps on a race track and an off-road obstacle course during the reveal.

Notably, JLR is keeping most of the technical specs under wraps for now. Previous reports suggested the SUVs are built on the new 800-volt EMA modular platform, with performance figures rivaling V8-powered models. The dual-motor setup is expected to deliver up to 550 hp and 850 Nm of torque, though lower-output versions are also expected. The system is powered by a 118.5 kWh battery pack, offering up to 531 km (330 miles) of range under strict EPA testing standards.
