Tech blogger Marques Brownlee published a video featuring photos taken with all generations of iPhone cameras. The photos were taken under identical conditions and with the same subject matter.
The photo quality hasn't changed nearly as much as one might expect.
By comparison, the 2007 iPhone has a 2-megapixel camera, while the 2025 iPhone 17 has a pair of 48-megapixel cameras. Modern models also feature larger sensors and faster optics, optical image stabilization, and digital photography technologies, including AI processing.
