Kirsten Dunst joins Sydney Sweeney in the sequel to "The Maid"
The plot once again centers on Millie Calloway, who takes a job as a housekeeper for manager Douglas Garrick, where she encounters a series of oddities involving his wife, Wendy. She is also strictly forbidden from communicating with Wendy, which only heightens the tension.
Paul Feig will once again direct the film, with Rebecca Sonnenshine adapting the screenplay. Michele Morrone will also return to the cast, while some cast members from the first film, including Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, will not appear in the sequel.
Lionsgate called Dunst's casting a significant boost to the project, citing her wide acting range and status as one of Hollywood's leading stars. Filming for the sequel is scheduled for the fall, and the original film was a notable box office success, grossing approximately $400 million worldwide. ![]()
