In China, a dog that had lived underground for several years was rescued.
Caring people came to the aid of a dog who had lived in a small mine for three years.
In Yantai, China, a dog lived alone in an underground mine for three years before finally being rescued, according to the Shanghai Daily.
The animal survived underground thanks to the food and drink of caring people. Volunteers attempted to pull the dog out of the small mine several times, but were unsuccessful. Professional rescuers finally freed the dog.
One of them caught the dog with a metal pole with a noose at the end. While he held the frightened animal with the pole, another man descended to the dog, wrapped it in a blanket, and carried it upstairs. There, the dog was placed in a cage and taken to a veterinary clinic. The moment of rescue was captured on video.
Veterinarians discovered that the dog was suffering from skin problems on its ears and muscle atrophy in its limbs. It also had severely impaired vision. The dog is currently undergoing treatment.
