Following the match between FC Utrecht and Feyenoord in Utrecht, clashes broke out between fans near the buses that were supposed to take them away. Videos on social media show police using batons and pepper spray to disperse the crowd and prevent potential clashes between fans of both teams.
According to officials, the measures were taken under difficult circumstances: some groups of fans were exiting the buses and congregating close to each other, posing a threat of violence. Following police intervention, the buses were allowed to depart, and several people were arrested for violations and inciting conflict.
